The Wild’s overtime win was overshadowed by the Stars defenseman being clipped by a skate.

Of all the games in the first round of the Stanley Cup Playoffs, the big heavyweight fight was between the Minnesota Wild and the Dallas Stars, and it delivered the goods.

However, there was a truly scary moment in a Game 4 thriller when a player hit a skate blade directly in the face.

This happened late in the game when Minnesota’s Michael McCarron attempted to get around Dallas defenseman Nils Lundkvist to a puck that had been sent through the goalmouth by Marcus Foligno.

However, when McCarron dove for the puck, his foot came up and hit Lundkvist in the face.

It’s simply terrifying.

Lundkvist left the ice bleeding and did not return to the game, which ended up requiring overtime to decide the winner.

Hopefully everything works out, because the Stars will need all hands on deck in this one. After all, it looks like it might end up going the distance.

However, Boldy was going to be the one to tie this series one way or another, and later in overtime he buried one that was beyond doubt.

This series delivers exactly what we were all hoping for. The Wild won in a beatdown in the first game, followed by the Stars winning the next two, including a third game that required double overtime.

It therefore returns to the Lone Star State knotted at 2-2, and it seems that it has the potential to go to game 7.

But hey, that was to be expected from a meeting of two Central Division powers.
