- Operation Shaban will continue until the last terrorist is eliminated: sources.
- Security sources say the operation involves air and ground actions.
- 42 people, including security forces, were martyred in Balochistan this month.
At least three more Indian-backed terrorists were eliminated in an operation in Balochistan, taking the total number of militants neutralized in the ongoing Operation Shaban since July 5 to 129, security sources said on Thursday.
The sources said the security forces – in a joint operation involving the Pakistan Army, Frontier Corps (FC) and police – inflicted heavy casualties on the terrorists and successfully targeted their hideouts in remote and rugged terrains.
The sources said the operation involves both air and ground actions targeting the Indian-backed ‘Khawarij’.
They added that Operation Shaban would continue across Balochistan until the “last terrorist” was eliminated.
The day before, sources confirmed that security forces had killed three other terrorists in the province.
A large cache of arms and ammunition was also recovered from the slain militants, including machine guns, rocket launchers, mobile phones and other equipment, they added.
At least 42 people, including security personnel and civilians, were killed in three terror attacks in Balochistan earlier this month, ISPR Director General Lieutenant General Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry said last week.
He said Indian-backed terrorists attacked the Mangi checkpoint but police personnel fought bravely, killing 15 militants in the initial engagement.
Pakistan has seen a surge in terrorist activities, particularly in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan, since the Afghan Taliban came to power in 2021.
