“The TNA Knockouts, in two decades, changed the landscape of professional wrestling,” Brooks said. “Hell, the TNA Knockouts started the women’s revolution. We broke glass ceilings. We rewrote the rules. We created opportunities and proved time and time again why we belong on the biggest stage. And now it’s time to make history again.

“Starting Thursday night, there will be a 16-woman tournament. And at the end of that tournament, we will crown TNA’s first-ever televised knockout champion.”

The belt was released and featured the letters “KO” and “TV” in purple and black letters.

Those who will participate in the tournament have not yet been announced. Black, Hartwell and Sadè could very well participate in this tournament, starting with “Impact”.

“This championship will be defended exclusively on ‘Impact’ television,” Brooks continued. “And for my knockouts, it’s once again an opportunity to prove that you are the greatest women’s division in professional wrestling.

“Ladies, let’s make history.”
