Eric Meyer, a senior office official (SBO) for the South and Central Affairs Office in the US State Department, underlined Pakistan’s immense potential in the mineral sector, qualifying it for the two savings.

During a recent visit to Islamabad, Meyer led an American delegation focused on the stimulation of cooperation in the critical mineral industry in Pakistan, the supply of economic ties and the strengthening of collaboration against terrorism.

“Critical minerals are the raw materials necessary for our most advanced technologies,” said Meyer, speaking on the sidelines of Pakistan Minerals Investment Forum.

“President Trump clearly said that the guarantee of various and reliable sources of these materials is a strategic priority. The vast mineral potential of Pakistan can benefit our two countries,” he added.

According to an official statement, the United States aims to support sustainable development in the Pakistan mining sector by sharing technical expertise, encouraging investment and promoting the management of responsible resources.

Meyer highlighted the mutual benefits of a transparent and well -regulated mining industry, adding that it could unlock significant economic opportunities.

During his two-day stay, Meyer met the senior leaders, including Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, the Chief of Staff of the Army Asim Munnir, the Minister of the Interior Mohin Naqvi and the Minister of Petroleum Musadik Malik.

Their discussions revolve around the expansion of access to American companies, strengthening economic partnerships and the progress of joint efforts to combat terrorism.

Meyer also got involved with foreign policy analysts, American commercial representatives of Pakistan and alumni of American public diplomacy programs to reaffirm people’s connections to the person underlying bilateral links.
