ISPR says meeting focused on issues of mutual interest, regional security and bilateral defense cooperation
US lawmakers on Monday recognized Pakistan’s role in promoting regional stability and economic resilience during a meeting with Chief of Defense Forces (CDF) and Chief of Army Staff Field Marshal Asim Munir, the military’s media wing said.
According to a statement issued by Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), Member of the House of Representatives (Montana) Ryean Keith and Member of the House of Representatives (Washington) Michael James visited CDF Munir at the headquarters in Rawalpindi.
“The visiting lawmakers recognized Pakistan’s role in promoting regional stability and economic resilience. Both sides also explored opportunities to strengthen bilateral trade, private sector partnerships and broader economic engagement,” the statement said.

The ISPR said that during the meeting, discussions focused on issues of mutual interest, regional security, bilateral defense cooperation and ways to enhance economic collaboration and prosperity,” it said.
IT further added that CDF Munir highlighted Pakistan’s vast economic potential, stressing that lasting regional stability was deeply rooted in economic growth, trade expansion and connectivity.
“He highlighted the ongoing structural reforms in Pakistan aimed at fostering a business-friendly environment and attracting foreign investments,” the statement added.
The US delegation thanked the military leaders for their hospitality and expressed their shared commitment to strengthening economic, commercial and institutional ties between the United States and Pakistan.

Pakistan and the United States enjoy a long-standing relationship spanning security, counter-terrorism, trade, investment and regional stability. Although bilateral relations have seen periods of cooperation and tension over the decades, the two countries have continued to engage through diplomatic, military and economic channels.
More recently, Islamabad and Washington have sought to strengthen ties following the US-Iran-Israeli conflict, during which Pakistan supported diplomatic efforts that contributed to a ceasefire. Since then, US President Donald Trump has publicly acknowledged Pakistan’s role and praised Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and CDF Munir for their efforts.
