The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has published a weather alert providing for heat wave conditions in the south of the country from Tuesday, April 8 to April 11.
Sindh temperatures, parts of Balutchistan and Central and South Punjab should remain from 4 ° C to 7 ° C above normal during this period.
In southern Pakistan, regions such as Sibi, Dadu and Nawabshah should experience extreme temperatures, reaching 48 ° C.
Other regions such as Sukkur and Turbat could see temperatures go to 46 ° C, while areas like Bahawalpur, Dera Ghazi Khan and Multan may experience summits of 43 ° C to 42 ° C. Lahore should reach 40 ° C.
It is advisable to the public, in particular vulnerable groups such as the elderly, children and women, to take precautionary measures to prevent heat -related diseases. Residents are invited to avoid direct sunlight and stay hydrated in hot weather.
Meanwhile, a shallow west wave is expected to enter the regions of the north of the country on Tuesday evening and stay until April 11.
This system is likely to bring dust and thunderstorms with occasional precipitation to Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa, Murrier, Galliyat, Gilgit-Baltistan, Cashmire, the Pory region and the northeast of Punjab.
Isolated hailstorms can also occur, with dust storms and burst winds expected in the plains of Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and upper Sindh during this period.
