Adam Sandler wasn’t a surprise guest at Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce’s wedding: he was one of those who helped make it official.
The Hollywood comedian officiated the couple’s July 3 ceremony at New York’s Madison Square Garden, a role that felt less like a celebrity appearance and more like a natural next chapter in two years of friendship in the making.
Sandler first got close to Kelce while filming Happy Gilmore 2, and the NFL star couldn’t stop gushing about the experience.
“Working with Happy Gilmore himself, Sandman and Happy Productions, it was off the chain,” Kelce said in 2025. “He’s just as cool on screen as he is on screen, and it was a dream come true.”
The admiration goes both ways. Sandler later described him as “such a sweet, kind, funny as hell guy,” adding that he is “a great actor and a great human” — and even calling him a “stud.”
His connection to Swift is just as deep. After years of watching his daughters bond with the pop superstar, Sandler exclaimed, “Taylor is amazing…Taylor is so good to my family and always has been.”
He even once admitted that meeting the singer-songwriter made him nervous.
“Just because I don’t want to ruin it for my kids… I don’t stay as cool as possible,” he admitted, before praising his record-breaking career: “People talk about the Beatles and her… There’s not a word my kids don’t know.”
With Austin Swift as Taylor’s best man and Jason Kelce alongside his brother as best man, Sandler had a ringside seat to one of pop culture’s biggest “I do’s” moments — before the Madison Square Garden jumbotron lit up with the message: “JUST&T MARRIED!”
