The tension at All Elite Wrestling’s (AEW) main event Forbidden Door was palpable. Will Ospreay vs. Swerve Strickland in the finals of the Owen Hart Foundation Men’s Tournament with a shot at the AEW World Championship on the line at All In.

Ospreay has vowed to fulfill his dream of competing at Wembley Stadium in London. Strickland hoped to play the role of spoiler in order to get the AEW World Title back around his waist. The match would be a bloody affair between two of the biggest stars in the company.

Strickland knew what the game plan was. He needed to slow Ospreay’s attack to a snail’s pace and bring the match to himself rather than trying to match his opponent’s agility. For the most part, he reduced Ospreay’s attack. But as the match progressed, the blows became harder, both men were bleeding and one of them finally had his hand raised.

Both men gave everything. With blood streaming down their faces, Osprey and Strickland looked at each other in the ring. Ospreay was cheered on by the Death Riders at ringside while Strickland had Prince Nana in his corner. It was coming to an end.

Strickland hit the House Call, but the force in Ospreay’s neck seemed to take the blow. With all his might, Osprey reared back and hit Strickland with a hidden blade and a hidden blade lariat, but Strickland came out of the pin.
