WrestleMania 42: Liv Morgan wins Women’s World Championship match against Stephanie Vaquer

LAS VEGAS– Liv Morgan and Stephanie Vaquer fought for weeks. Morgan was headbutted in a backstage segment courtesy of Vaquer.

Sometimes getting revenge on “The Greatest Stage of All” is the sweetest thing that can happen.

Morgan defeated Vaquer with help from Roxanne Perez and Raquel Rodriguez to become a three-time holder of the Women’s World Championship at WrestleMania 42. Perez and Rodriguez provided the outside interference Morgan needed to take advantage of Vaquer.

While Morgan, Perez and Rodriguez were outside the ring, Vaquer hit a springboard cross body. But she was only able to eliminate Perez and Rodriguez. Morgan launched the attack from there.

Morgan returned to the ring and set Vaquer up for Oblivion. She nailed the free throw for the second time and pinned Vaquer for the win.

Morgan last won the Women’s World Championship at King and Queen of the Ring in May 2024. She held it until January 6, 2025, losing it to Rhea Ripley on the Netflix debut. A subsequent injury forced Morgan out of action, but she made her return at Survivor Series: WarGames.

She’s been on a roll ever since and after winning the women’s Royal Rumble match, Morgan is champion again.
