- Another reference Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge appeared
- He suggests performances tied with the Galaxy S25 Ultra
- The phone should be launched in April
Super -thin phones are excellent from an aesthetic point of view, but the shrinking factor can lead to performance constraints – it is therefore reassuring to see a new Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge reference leak which suggests that it will be at speed with the rest of the series.
According to the reference (via Sambile), the Galaxy S25 EDGE seems to be adjusted with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite at 8 cores inside. This is the variant defined on a higher clock speed that we have seen in other Samsung devices, including the Samsung Galaxy S25.
In addition, the monocore score of 2,969 and the multi -core score of 9,486 suggest that the performance will be tied with the Galaxy S25 Ultra – the phone that we have described as “the ultimate Android” in our Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra Review.
There are a few warnings here: it could well be a Galaxy S25 Edge performing unfinished software, for example. But it is good to see these first results point in the right direction, before the expected launch of the phone in April.
Cool down
The chipset mounted inside a phone does not always tell the whole story of its performance potential: to prevent this chipset from overheating and crushing the phone, it will be accompanied by various safety measures and cooling features.
The efficiency of this cooling – and therefore at what speed the chipset can work – depends on several factors, but in general, the more space available, the better cooling (this is why desktop PCs can be much more powerful than laptops).
While the Samsung Galaxy S25 edge is only 5.84 mm thick, from front to back, it should also be higher and wider than the standard Galaxy S25. This could well mean that Samsung can hold in a more advanced cooling system.
Everything should be revealed in the coming weeks, when Samsung unveils the entire phone – after giving us short glimps of what it looks like. It seems very likely that Apple will follow with his own super mileble phone later in the year, the air of the iPhone 17.
