What other horror films are coming out in May 2026?
Alongside Passengerthere are a bunch of other films that will keep horror fans busy all month long. This is actually one of the strongest line-ups I’ve seen in a while, and you bet I’ll be watching the whole thing.
Liminal horrors, Behind the scenes And Exit 8supernatural horror Hokum, and viral sensation Obsession were all released in May, each of them offering a different story. The variety on offer is great and there are plenty of original stories to immerse ourselves in.
I was excited about the marketing for Passenger so far, but with so much on offer, it’s definitely going to have to keep working to stand out from the crowd when we’re inundated with horror movie teasers over the coming weeks.
The summary of Passenger teases: “A few weeks into their van adventure, a young couple witnesses an accident that leaves the driver dead. Soon, they are pursued by an impossible-to-outrun demonic stalker who follows them everywhere they go.”
Passenger plays on the fear of a demon who clings to his subject, becoming a real “passenger”, with Scary Stories to Tell in the DarkIt is directed by André Øvredal. He definitely has the potential to be good, so fingers crossed.
