Kevin Knight did the unthinkable on Sunday at All Elite Wrestling’s (AEW) Double or Nothing pay-per-view when he added insult to injury following Darby Allin’s world title loss.
Knight came out from behind and rushed to the ring as Maxwell Jacob Friedman (MJF) celebrated an AEW World Championship victory over Allin in a hair vs. title match. Knight went to the top rope and hit a UFO Splash on Allin while he was tied up on a stretcher. He then overturned the stretcher.
This was one of the most shocking things that happened during the show.

Knight addressed his actions during Wednesday’s “Dynamite” episode of AEW. The Philadelphia crowd was already filled with animosity, shouting “F— you Kevin.”
“You know I shouldn’t expect any less from you meatheads,” Knight began. “Since last Sunday, ‘The Jet’ has only heard one word and that is ‘why?’ Did you ask me why I did what I did last Sunday? Look, I told Darby Allin not to give up on “The Jet.” I told him not to let you down. And guess what he did? He ruined everything.
“You know what? Darby Allin, he blew it. Just like the Sixers did against the Knicks – he let us all down. Philly, I’m with all of you. I’m on your side. He let us all down. I decided I wasn’t going to trust the process anymore. I decided I was going to take matters into my own hands and I did what I had to do. Let’s keep the high ground, let’s keep the money, let’s keep the money real things, who was the last person that MJF was watching? Who was the last person that humiliated me, “The Jet”. So that being said, I should have been me in that main event last Sunday but instead I was in the back watching from the edge, from the bench.
Knight said he wasn’t going to stay away anymore and was going to “take over the whole damn business.” He remembered what Allin told him when he first arrived in AEW: “Don’t waste time.” A similar sentiment he revealed to PK Press Club Digital in a recent interview.
He suggested he was simply doing what Allin told him to do and left him in a “pool of his own blood”. He smiles remembering that moment.
Knight’s tag team partner, “Speedball” Mike Bailey, came to address him. He said he heard what Knight was saying and knew how ambitious he was. He warned Knight about getting ahead of himself and making mistakes.
Bailey said Knight made a “mistake” in attacking Allin. He said it could be fixed if Knight apologized. He reached out to kiss Knight.
Instead, Knight shouldered him and hit Bailey with a clothesline. Knight hit another shot on Bailey before leaving the ring. It appeared that Jet Speed’s tag team duo was no more either.
Is it the Knight’s time?
MJF World Title Celebration

MJF joined an exclusive club on Sunday when he earned his third world title reign at the age of 30 by defeating Allin for the AEW World Championship. On Wednesday, he entered Philadelphia on a throne for his celebration.
MJF had the glory of beating Allin after losing the belt a month before. He recalled that only eight men have been three-time world champions at the age of 30.
“They’re going to write about me in the history books,” he said. “They’re going to talk about me until the sun explodes. I really hope that you stupid, ignorant, worthless fools are even vaguely aware of how lucky you are, how lucky you really, truly are, to be able to witness the greatness that is me in real time.
“You’re living in the greatest era imaginable and it’s the greatest era because it’s all about me. I’m a three-time, three-time, three-time world champion. The best wrestler in the world. The most complete professional wrestler in the world. No. 1, there’s no one close, a generational talent.”
Before the fans had time to “bow” to MJF’s greatness, Mark Briscoe came out to confront the champion. He said MJF didn’t “fit in” in Philadelphia because he wasn’t tough enough. He reminded MJF that not long ago he pinned him and wanted a title shot.
MJF declined Briscoe’s challenge because AEW was not only a sport, but also a business. And that it was “bad enough” Allin was a champion. He laughed about the fact that Briscoe thought he was good enough to hold the AEW title.
“You’re nowhere near the devil’s level,” MJF said.
Rush, after winning his four-way match, also moved on to MJF. He called MJF a “chicken”, reminding MJF that he almost beat him too. MJF said if anyone deserved a title shot, it was Rush. He asked Rush if he wanted to fight him for the title in Philadelphia and then took him out. But he said a match would take place next week.

The dogs attack Cope and Cage

While MJF had his own celebration, it was supposed to be a night of celebration for Adam Copeland and Christian Cage as they became the AEW Tag Team Champions. It was their first professional wrestling title in 25 years after defeating FTR at Double or Nothing.
Cage praised FTR, saying they were the “best guys” and one of the best teams they had ever faced. But they are not on the “tippy top”. Copeland said it’s time to “live in the present.”
Copeland and Cage hit the right notes that fans have come to expect. They were going to take a five second exposure for the benefit of those who shoot with flash. Copeland has even released disposable cameras for the moment.
But the moment was gone in a flash.
David Finlay and Clark Connors came out and attacked the champions before the special moment could take place. They seemed to be declaring themselves the next to step up and go for the belts.
Owen Hart Tournament Update
Claudio Castagnoli and Brody King met in their quarterfinal match. The two big men went blow for blow and blow for blow. It was up to King to advance on Castagnoli in a hard-hitting affair. King advanced in the tournament and will face Swerve Strickland, who defeated Bandido at Double or Nothing.
This was a rematch between AEW National Champion Mark Davis and former AEW National Champion Jack Perry at the Owen Hart Tournament. Both men were coming out of a Stadium Stampede match at Double or Nothing, looking to chase their dreams of earning a shot at the AEW World Title.
Perry and Davis fought throughout the final 15 minutes of the show. He attempted a running knee strike, but Davis caught him and connected with a vicious clothesline. Perry kicked out of a pin, but Davis continued his attack and eventually picked up the victory. Davis will face Will Ospreay in the semifinals.
Meanwhile, Alex Windsor was set to face Willow Nightingale in the tournament before the TBS champion had to withdraw and relinquish her belt due to injury.
Windsor was asked about preparation for her wildcard opponent. She said she had been preparing for her big moment her entire career and all she wanted was to be “the best” in women’s wrestling.
“I’m about to prove that when it comes to being the best in the world, Alex Windsor is part of that conversation. A path that ends exactly where it began: at home. It’s a path I don’t walk alone because my darling, my Billy (Will Ospreay), he’s chasing his dream at Wembley and so am I,” she said. “So, joker, whoever you are, you better have some skin in the game because my whole heart is in mine.”
Windsor will face her wildcard opponent next week on “Dynamite.”
Samoa Joe takes leave
After his loss to Will Ospreay at Double or Nothing, Samoa Joe told his Opps brothers that he was going to step away for a while.
“Once again opportunity knocks and Hollywood rings,” he told his team. “Gentlemen, I’m going to be gone for a few months. But you all know how this works. I expect you to keep it up.”
Hook and Anthony Bowens appeared to step in at the same time to take Joe’s place, suggesting potential friction ahead for the group.
