- 10 new finance-specific AI agents launched by Anthropic
- You can also use Claude directly in Excel and other Office applications
- Claude Opus 4.7 performs better than GPT-5.5 and Gemini 3.1 Pro
Anthropic has launched 10 pre-built AI agents designed for banks, insurers and other financial institutions to accelerate some of the industry’s most time-consuming tasks.
Available through a number of the company’s offerings, including Claude Cowork, Claude Code and Claude Managed Agents, these purpose-built agents are designed to be deployed in “days rather than months.”
The creator of Claude also took advantage of this announcement to remind financial agents that Claude is now available directly in Microsoft Excel and other Office applications.

Anthropic launches specially designed financial agents
Each of the 10 agents is made up of three distinct elements: skills (a set of instructions), connectors and sub-agents, which Anthropic describes as “additional Claude models that are called upon by the main agent, for specific sub-tasks such as the selection of comparables or methodological checks”.
However, with the financial industry being as regulated as it is, businesses can also choose to modify and refine these agents to meet their own needs.
Available in the market, five are intended to work in research and customer coverage, and the other five are intended for finance and operations. Some strengths include a pitch creation agent, a market research agent, and an assessment review agent.
Anthropic also described Claude Opus 4.7, the template that powers the new Excel agents and connectors, as “state of the art in financial tasks.” It scored 64.37% on Vals AI’s Finance Agent benchmark, far ahead of GPT-5.5 (59.96%) and Gemini 3.1 Pro (59.72%).
As for the data that Anthropic’s new financial agents can access, FactSet, S&P Capital IQ, MSCI, PitchBook, Morningstar, Chronograph, LSEG and Daloopa are just some of the “dozens of market data, research platforms and internal financial company systems” accessible via connectors for real-time data.
The new Claude Agents are available in all paid plans for Claude Cowork and Claude Code, but they are still in public beta as managed agents for programmatic use.
