ISLAMABAD:
Chief of the Naval Staff (CNS), Admiral Naveed Ashraf, has emphasized the importance of maintaining perpetual combat readiness to effectively counter traditional and non-traditional challenges in the maritime domain.
Chairing the Pakistan Navy Command and Staff Conference at the Naval Headquarters, CNS highlighted the pivotal role of Pakistan Navy in ensuring regional peace, stability and maritime security, said a press release issued by the Directorate General of Public Relations (Navy).
He highlighted that PN provides assurance to the maritime community through its presence in the Gulf of Oman.
In the context of the current situation in the Middle East, the CNS noted emerging threats in the maritime domain, including freedom of navigation, potential disruption of vital maritime lines of communication (SLOC), and an unstable maritime security situation between strategic choke points.
Admiral Naveed Ashraf emphasized that acquisition of niche and cutting-edge technologies was an absolute strategic necessity for the Pakistan Navy.
The forum also commemorated the first anniversary of Marka-e-Haq, paying tribute to the sacrifices made during the May 2025 conflict.
The naval chief termed the historic triumph as an enduring testimony of national unity and unwavering determination to defeat any external aggression with an iron fist. The forum undertook a comprehensive review of operational readiness, current initiatives and upcoming events.
Discussions remained focused on aligning naval priorities with evolving regional maritime security imperatives to chart a clear path for operational readiness across multiple domains of naval warfare.
The Command and Staff Conference is the supreme decision-making forum of the Pakistan Navy where the Chief of Naval Staff, principal staff officers and field commanders deliberate on strategic priorities and policies.
