Ubisoft confirmed Assassin’s Creed Black Flag resynced will feature Sony’s enhanced PSSR (PlayStation Spectral Super Resolution) AI upscaling technology.
The 2013 remake Assassin’s Creed The Pirate Adventure has finally been revealed, and a new PlayStation Blog post following the world premiere trailer has outlined what players can expect from the PS5 and PS5 Pro versions.
Ubisoft said it is “taking advantage of PS5 Pro to deliver an immersive hacking adventure” to deliver improved visuals and optimized performance.

“We were extremely impressed with the improved PSSR. It truly redefines the graphical experience in console gaming,” said Jussi Markkanen, CTO of Ubisoft Singapore. “This allowed us to render our dynamic tropical world filled with swaying palm trees, violent storms and rogue waves without visible scaling artifacts, delivering crisp pixel quality and high image stability.”
Nicolas Lopez, technical architect at Ubisoft Montreal, said that Resynchronized Black Flag “pushes ray tracing further in all modes” on PS5 and PS5 Pro, and confirmed that the PS5 Pro version will offer the latest PSSR 2 technology.
Like most PS5 games, this suggests that the game will launch with multiple graphics modes, like Performance, Balanced, and Quality.
“PlayStation 5 brings more consistent lighting, while PlayStation 5 Pro delivers an uncompromised experience with advanced ray tracing performance and improved PSSR,” Lopez said.
We also now know that the game will use the latest version of Ubisoft’s Anvil engine, which features more detailed character faces and environments, models, animations, and denser crowds.
The official Resynchronized Black Flag the revelation took a long time to come. The game has been rumored in 2023, and over the past few months, more and more leaks have slipped through the cracks. It was only last month that Ubisoft finally confirmed the game’s existence.
Assassin’s Creed Black Flag resynced is scheduled to launch on July 9, 2026 on PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.
