Bruce Pearl, male Auburn Tigers basketball coach, was appointed chairman of the board of directors of the US Israel Education Association (USIEA) on Thursday.
Pearl is one of the handles of Jewish coaches in university basketball. He was one of the most frank supporters in Israel, who grew up as a result of the terrorist attack on October 7 in Hamas. He was one of the three Jewish head coaches who made the Final Four of the NCAA last weekend.

“I am deeply honored to be appointed president of the US Israel Education Association, and I even hope that I will even be able to start filling out the outgoing president’s shoes, Dr. Phil Roe, former member of the Congress and president of the Affairs Committee on Veterans Affairs,” Pearl said in a press release.
“My experience in Israel was a transformer. I thought it was my responsibility to get more involved in the Mission of Usiea and to educate the senior government leaders in America on the importance of supporting Israel. I also shared this important trip with my team. In August 2022, the University of Auburn became the first basketball team of division I to play a professional Israeli team.

Usiea has helped establish the relationship between us and Israeli leaders and strengthen their communication on key issues.
Pearl’s objective is to amplify the mission.
“I have devoted a large part of my life to teaching young people the importance of leadership, values and understanding of different perspectives,” added Pearl. “My work with Usiea aligns with these principles, and I am delighted to continue to build a bridge of understanding between these two large nations.”

Pearl led Auburn to a record of 32-6. The appearance of the Final Four of the Tigers has been the first of the team since 2019. Pearl led Auburn to its only two Four Fours.
