Caitlin Clark injury report prompts WNBA warning to Fever

The WNBA warned the Indiana Fever on Thursday for failing to report Caitlin Clark’s injury status before she was a late scratch before her game against the Portland Fire.

The Fever revealed Clark’s injury two hours before Wednesday’s reveal. She was not listed on the team’s injury report the day before when she did not practice.

The league requires teams to list injured players on a report by 5 p.m. the day before the game. If a player’s status changes overnight or early in the day, the team must update the injury report. The accident triggered the warning, the league told The Associated Press.

Clark is listed as probable for the Fever’s home game against the Golden State Valkyries.

The superstar’s 2025 season has been marred by multiple injuries. She suffered one before the All-Star break, then another during her rehabilitation.

She’s already spoken out about a lingering problem this season. She said after the team’s first loss that her back was “going off the rails pretty quickly.”

Clark is back at the top of his game since returning to the field.

She is averaging 24.3 points, 9 assists and 5 rebounds in the first four games she has played.

In the win over the Seattle Storm, she scored 21 points, dished out 10 assists and grabbed seven rebounds.
