Chaos ensues at New York Knicks parade as countless fans are unable to enter

New York Knicks fans made sure to make the most of their 53-year wait – at least, those who were able to participate in the parade.

Millions of people gathered at New York’s Canyon of Heroes, as many fans were turned away well before the parade began due to the crowds.

But those who got in had a pretty awesome time – while others certainly pushed the boundaries.

Before the Knicks took part in the parade, several fans were seen climbing onto police cars, while others gathered atop a sanitation truck and construction awnings.

Subway stations were crowded as sunrise approached, some where hopeful participants were not even able to exit. Parade roads and entry points were closed, leaving countless people off the parade route.

A total of 72 vehicles traveled down Broadway to celebrate the team’s first title since 1973, and 10,000 officers were deployed.

NYPD DEPLOYS 10,000 OFFICERS FOR HISTORIC KNICKS CHAMPIONSHIP PARADE

The Knicks won each of the first two games in San Antonio before losing Game 3, then staging the greatest comeback in NBA Finals history in Game 4, coming back from a 29-point deficit.

Game 5 took place in San Antonio, where the Knicks once again overcame a double-digit deficit – twice.

Numerous watch parties were held throughout the playoffs which resulted in arrests, leading to the parties being temporarily canceled.
