Sherrone Moore avoided jail time Tuesday following an alleged stalking incident after she was fired from the University of Michigan.
The disgraced former Wolverines head coach was fired in December after an investigation revealed an inappropriate relationship with a staff member. Shortly after the dismissal, he was jailed after allegedly breaking into an employee’s house and threaten to commit suicide.
Moore was placed on probation for 18 months and ordered to pay just over $1,000 in fines. He must also continue mental health treatment, must not consume alcohol or marijuana, must not possess weapons and has been ordered to have no contact with the alleged victim.

In the Ann Arbor courtroom, Moore thanked his wife, Kelli, for her support while saying he took the process “very seriously.”
“There’s a certain irony in all of this: The person, frankly, Mr. Moore, who saves you from the wrath of this court is the one you betrayed,” Judge Cedric Simpson told the former coach. “I don’t know where your wife, Kelli, finds her strength.
“When all the circumstances are happening and they’re happening to her and she’s absorbing them in real time, she doesn’t once lose her focus. She doesn’t blink a single eye to doubt you. Not once does she want something terrible to happen to you.
“Listening to the terror in her voice that day, I don’t think anyone in the world would have blamed her, given the circumstances, if she had said, ‘I don’t care.’

Prosecutors accused Moore of contacting the staffer by phone and text after the breakup, prompting the woman to contact the University of Michigan and cooperate with its investigation. Moore was later fired from his job as head football coach, which prosecutors say prompted him to show up at her home.
Moore then allegedly “barged” into the residence, grabbed a butter knife and a pair of kitchen scissors and began threatening his own life. According to prosecutors, Moore told the staffer, “My blood is on your hands” and “You have ruined my life.”
Moore pleaded no contest to two misdemeanors later in the day to resolve the criminal case.
Kelli called 911 fearing that her husband would “hurt himself” after being “fired from his job.”
Moore and the alleged victim had an “intimate relationship for several years,” a prosecutor said at an initial hearing shortly after his arrest.

Moore replaced Jim Harbaugh after the team finished a 15-0 season en route to a national championship. Moore was the offensive coordinator of that team.
