Following backlash over YouTube Premium’s quiet price increase in the US, Google has revealed a new deal that lets you get 50% off a year of YouTube Premium when you sign up for a Google One Premium or Google AI plan, provided you meet certain criteria.
Vice President of Google Photos and Google One, Shimrit Ben-Yair, shared the bundle on her X account (see below), while the Google Gemini account on X also announced the “special surprise for our Gemini power users.”

Google has recently made many changes to its Google One Premium plans. Just a few weeks ago, it doubled the storage allocation of its AI Pro tier, which also offers the YouTube Premium add-on for a limited time, without increasing the price.
But before you rush to sign up, there are a few things to note.
As mentioned in Article X, the YouTube Premium plan is only available to Google One Premium subscribers who pay for 2TB of storage or more. The Google AI Pro plan is also included, as it offers 5TB of storage. This means that users of Basic, Standard and Google AI Plus versions will not be eligible.
There are also some regional restrictions to keep in mind. You can only benefit from the discount if you live in the US, Brazil, Canada, France, Germany or Japan, so UK subscribers will unfortunately not benefit.
If you are already a YouTube Premium subscriber, you will need to cancel your subscription and sign up for Google AI Pro in order to receive the discount. You can do this by following the steps outlined in the Google One help page.
