Spain and Belgium will face off in the quarter-finals of the 2026 FIFA World Cup on Friday, July 10, 2026 at 3 p.m. ET from Los Angeles Stadium.
Spain has been virtually flawless through five matches, going 4-0-1 with nine goals scored and none conceded. Goalkeeper Unai Simón set a World Cup record with six consecutive clean sheets and a 609-minute shutout streak spanning the 2022 and 2026 tournaments. Mikel Oyarzabal leads the Spanish attack with four World Cup goals so far.
Belgium arrives with a 3-0-2 record in five matches, with Romelu Lukaku scoring three times in the tournament so far, including a decisive goal off the bench in the 4-1 round of 16 win over the United States that extended Belgium’s unbeaten streak to 18 matches.
Below are the details on how to watch.
How to watch Spain vs Belgium
Spain vs Belgium Preview
Spain’s control in the middle, especially thanks to Rodri, is the thing to watch.
Spain played this tournament by suffocating the matches. That’s an average of 65.6 minutes of possession per game, and Rodri is tied for the team lead with 7 chances created among midfielders driving that control. When Spain gets into rhythm, they fend off teams with passing volume and keep the ball in the final third long enough to turn pressure into clean looks.
Belgium has enough qualities to push back. Leandro Trossard created 15 chances in the tournament, and the Belgian attack showed that it can generate danger even without dominating the ball. If Belgium manages to break the Spanish midline and launch faster offensive sequences, the match will quickly change shape.
Watch the first sequence after kickoff. If Rodri receives cleanly and turns forward, Spain will likely dictate terms.
Players to watch

The Arsenal winger has arguably been Belgium’s best player at this World Cup with two goals and two assists so far in the tournament (with those goal contributions all coming in the last three games). He was instrumental in taking shots and creating chances. He could be the Red Devils’ most important option in trying to break down Spain’s impenetrable defense.

Spain will ultimately need to score more goals to have a realistic chance of winning the title. She won’t be able to make her way to the World Cup. Yamal, 18, from Barcelona, is the game’s best teenager and has already been nominated for the Ballon d’Or. In five games in this tournament, he has only one goal and no assists. If he can return to the form he displayed this season at Barcelona, Spain will be in great shape.
