Imran to move SC during meeting denials

Rawalpindi:

The founder of Pakistan Tehreek-e-insaf, Imran Khan, ordered PTI leaders to take the question of the refusal of his meetings with his friends and family before the Supreme Court.

Speaking to the media outside the High Court of Islamabad (IHC), the senator of the PTI Ali Zafar quoted Imran Khan saying that he was ready to speak in the national interest. He said that many PTI lawyers visit Adiala prison for meeting Imran Khan. He said the comments of Salman Akram Raja concerning the meeting with the founder of the PTI raised new controversy.

Meanwhile, Pakistan Secretary Tehreek-E-insaf (PTI), Salman Akram Raja, submitted two requests to the Superintendent of Adiala prison, asking meetings for family members and friends of the founder of PTI on Thursday.

The requests, signed by Raja, include the chief of the opposition to the National Assembly Omar Ayub Khan, the head of the PTI Shibli Faraz, the chief of the council of Sunni Ittehad, Sahibzada Hamid Raza, the chief of MWM Allama Nasir Abbas, the chief of opposition to the assembly of Punjab Ahmad Bhachar and Niazullah that Imran Khan. Family members listed in demand include Aleema Khanum, Uzma Khanum, Noreen Khanum and Qasim Zaman.

Although Thursday is generally reserved for meetings with friends, Raja asked that Adiala prison administration authorizes the family members of Imran Khan to meet him, because they were denied access during the family visit day on Tuesday.

It should be noted that the leaders of the PTI had already asked for the intervention of the judges after the prison administration has repeatedly refused meetings between Imran Khan and his friends and family, despite an order from the court.

They condemned the refusal as an outrage in the court and, in a solid statement, called on the judges to resign if they did not respect the sacred nature of the judiciary.
