Six suspects in KE staff torture guard uniforms, flee with copper cables and equipment

In a unique robbery, six armed robbers, posing as employees of K-Electric, looted a substation of a building in Gulshan-e-Iqbal and escaped with valuable equipment from an electrical substation, police said on Sunday.
The theft took place in Block 13-E in the early hours of Sunday morning. The suspects arrived in a mini-truck and a car, dressed in company uniforms, hard hats and jackets to pose as K-Electric staff.
Police said the suspects tied the building’s caretaker and his son to chairs and tortured them during the robbery. Then they removed the copper electrical wires, transformer bushings for the LV panel, busbars, circuit breakers and other valuable items from the substation.
Residents said the suspects fled after a citizen attempted to capture the incident on cellphone video.
Police collected CCTV footage and other evidence. SHO Saud said the theft took place between 7am and 8am and continued for almost an hour. Preliminary investigation revealed that the truck used in the crime was stolen within the limits of DHA police station. Police have launched a search operation using CCTV footage and expressed hope that the suspects will be arrested soon.
Rs647k looted from milk shop
The thieves made off with Rs 647,000 in cash and two mobile phones during a robbery at a milk shop in Gulshan-e-Iqbal.
Police say four suspects were involved in the crime, including one who stood guard outside while his three accomplices entered the store and committed the theft.
Police said the suspects were armed and had concealed their faces with helmets and clothing to avoid identification. They managed to escape without being worried after committing the crime. CCTV footage of the incident has surfaced, showing the suspects’ movements during the robbery.
A case was registered following the complaint of the trader concerned, while the police launched efforts to trace and arrest the suspects.

A dozen armed robbers on motorcycles stormed a market in Samanabad area of Federal Zone B and fled after looting cash and mobile phones from several butcher shops.
The incident took place in Block 17, where 11-12 robbers barged into a market brandishing handguns and targeted at least seven shops, including chicken, beef and mutton shops. The suspects stole cash worth hundreds of thousands of rupees and mobile phones from the traders.
Police said the robbers managed to escape towards Gulberg Chorangi without resistance. The suspects wore helmets similar to those used by online cyclists to conceal their identities.
SHO of Samanabad police station Rao Shahid said a case was registered following a complaint from a concerned trader, while efforts were on to obtain CCTV footage of the area.
