The rift between Prince Harry, Prince William and King Charles has widened the divide between the royal family and the Sussexes.
The Duke of Sussex reportedly feels “completely betrayed by the king”, with inside sources citing two major issues that have burned all bridges between father and son.
Meghan’s husband’s ongoing security battle and the collapse of reunion hopes have deepened the rift between the monarch and the duke.
The father of Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet has lost taxpayer-funded protection since he moved to the United States after leaving his royal job in 2020.
The 41-year-old man fought in vain to have him reinstated. He believes current arrangements make it unsafe for family to visit the UK.
On the other hand, her efforts to rebuild her relationship with Charles, 77, seemingly ended in smoke as no developments were made.
A source close to Harry said ALL RIGHT!: “From Harry’s point of view, Charles’s sense of betrayal is neither vague nor abstract – it is rooted in two very specific frustrations that have built over time.
“The first is the continuing lack of clarity and progress regarding his security arrangements, which he regards as fundamental to his ability to return safely to the UK with his family.
“The second is the growing sense that any genuine effort to rebuild his relationship with his father is quietly being devalued. He has been led to believe that there will be movement in both, and instead he feels increasingly kept at a distance.”
The source went on to explain: “On Harry’s side, there is a strong sense that Charles has backed away from the idea of another meaningful face-to-face meeting, despite earlier indications that a deeper reconciliation might be possible.”
The break creates for him an image of exclusion rather than return. This combination was particularly difficult for him to deal with and left him deeply disappointed, according to the insider.
However, some commentators believe the Sussexes’ upcoming summer visit could be a turning point as it could open the door to rebuilding relations and easing tensions.
