Islamabad:
The judge of the Supreme Court, Jamal Khan Mandokhail, observed that the irregularities will continue to prevail in the provincial high lessons as long as the relevant rules are not established.
Judge Mandokhail was part of a bench which heard a petition to regulate the powers of chief judges (CJ) of the various high lessons in the country on Friday.
Earlier, the petitioner’s lawyer, Mian Daud, revealed that some CJs have given Rs100m increments to certain employees of the High Court. He said that an employee of a high provincial court now obtains a salary equivalent to a high court judge thanks to these generous increments.
“There is also a case in which three notifications have been issued [for the increment of an employee] In one day, “he added. Judge Mandokhail noted that judges should learn to exercise their authority appropriately.
During the hearing, the additional prosecutor general informed the court that the LHC had submitted his response to the advice of justice. Judge Muhammad Ali Mazhar noted that the high court had not rejected the allegations leveled by the petitioner.
He noted that, as the petition contained evidence concerning the LHC only, the petition should be limited to the high provincial court. The court then ordered the petitioner to modify his petition. The LHC was also invited to appoint its lawyer. The case was then adjourned for three weeks.
