Light rain was reported in different parts of Karachi, with drizzle affecting several areas of the metropolis on Sunday evening.
Gulshan-e-Iqbal, Gulistan-e-Jauhar, University Road and Sohrab Goth experienced intermittent drizzle in the prevailing weather conditions.
Showers were also reported on Abul Hasan Isphani Road, Rashid Minhas Road and adjoining areas, spreading light rains to other parts of the metropolis.
Earlier, the daily forecast of the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) indicated that a seasonal depression had formed over northern Balochistan and adjoining areas.
A westerly wave was affecting the upper parts of the country, while moist currents from the Arabian Sea also entered the central and southern regions.
It said mainly hot and dry weather was expected in most parts of the country, while partly cloudy conditions were likely over upper hilly areas.
Dust storms and thunderstorms were expected in central Punjab, Potohar region and southern Balochistan, including Awaran, Panjgur, Khuzdar and Kech, during the forecast period.
The forecast adds that hot and dry conditions are expected to persist in most areas; however, rains, winds and thunderstorms were expected at isolated places in upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Kashmir and adjoining hilly areas.
