Manus, the highly publicized Chinese AI, given by some like the “Next Deepseek” has opened public access, offering you 1,000 credits to try it for free.
Manus is the last Chinese AI, capable of looking in depth and use of the agency, so that it can perform the tasks you define while you are free to leave and do something else. The first users reported problems with registration and, for most people, access had been limited.
I had been on the waiting list since the manus announcement, and I had access last Friday, but it also seems that public access is now available for anyone downloading the iOS or Android application or is registered on its website.
Many people have described manus as the best IA experience they have had so far, and I can see why – the reports it produces are incredibly detailed and have the impression of being well documented.
Not enough credits
Manus does not offer anything particularly new that you cannot make a ChatPPT, but it seems that his research is really deepened, and the range of things he can do is impressive, to make games from current news scenarios to data analysis and education applications.
The bad news is that 1,000 credits do not last very long, and you will have to register for a paid account if you want more credits.
As I asked Manus to respond to two requests that I had used around 500 credits. The first question I asked (“What does the future for Tesla look like?”) Was far from being trivial and required a lot of research, but on her credit, manus did all the necessary research, telling me what she was doing at each stage and produced four different reports for me.
Given that Deepseek was noted for refusing to answer the events relating to the events on which the Chinese government is sensitive, I took advantage of free access to Manus to ask it to compile a report on what happened in the demonstrations of Place Tiananmen in 1989.
Deepseek simply refuses to recognize the manifestations, but Manus seems to have no problem of censorship. He produced a full report on the demonstrations of several different sources which do not agree with the official verdict on things like the number of deaths, including the Red Cross.
Paid options
So, it seems that you can get about four requests out of the manus for free with your 1,000 credits, until you have to register for a paid plan to use it more.
The manus starter costs $ 39 per month (around £ 30 / $ 65 in) and gives you 3,900 credits, the possibility of performing two tasks simultaneously, while MANUS PRO costs $ 199 per month (around £ 156 / $ 334 in) and gives you 19,000 credits per month and the possibility of doing five tasks with simultaneous execution.
