Meghan Markle made a surprise appearance for the first-ever screening of the documentary film Cookie Queens in Los Angeles.
The film, produced by Archewell Productions, is directed by Alysa Nahmias. The two women sat down together for a Q&A panel to reflect on the film and shared some words of wisdom that have helped them overcome life’s challenges.
During the chat, Meghan shared advice from her husband, Prince Harry, who has been a British Army helicopter pilot for nearly a decade.
“He was a helicopter pilot in the British army for 10 years, and sometimes on very difficult days, or one time, he said, ‘But my love, you know, even if there’s a storm, above the storm, the sun still shines,'” Meghan told attendees.
“And that’s a perspective that really only comes when you think about zooming out a little bit,” she continued. “So I think when you really zoom out and think, my God, how many things have we been through that seemed difficult to you and you’re still overcoming them?”
She pointed out that you realize much later how much they have accomplished when they never thought they could do it.
The inspiring words come as Harry prepares to face a huge legal bill following the phone hacking case, which he lost earlier this month.
Although the couple has faced many setbacks, they are making progress in reconciling with the royal family after meeting King Charles. Additionally, Meghan’s latest Emmy nomination and appearance on MasterChef have boosted her image.
