- Nintendo released a new mobile game
- It’s called Pictonico! and it is a collection of mini-games similar to WarioWare securities
- The game is free and available for iOS and Android devices
Nintendo has released a new mobile game out of the blue, and it’s quite similar to WarioWare series.
The game is called Pictonico! and it’s a collection of mini-games that uses photos of people from your phone’s gallery in up to 80 pretty fun mini-games. These range from gnawing on someone’s mouth to force them to devour fruit to pulling out their nose hairs.
In addition to accessing past shots, you can take new photos to use directly from the app.
The wacky tone and aesthetic are certainly reminiscent WarioWare titles, and, having played it for a bit before writing this, it brings back a lot of memories playing with the same camera-focused lens. WarioWare: Broken! on the Nintendo DSi.
If you want to give it a try, a demo version can be downloaded completely free on Android and iOS devices. This edition includes three mini-games to play with, but if you want more you can purchase two additional volumes with 50 and 30 games for $7.69/£6.99 and $5.99/£5.39 respectively.
Buying one unlocks many additional features, including a selection of challenge stages to overcome, a score attack mode, and much more.
Purchasing both volumes also grants access to a mix mode that combines games from everything you’ve purchased. The wording of the app makes me think there will be future volumes released as well, which is really interesting.
Oh, and if you’re particularly concerned about your privacy, you’ll be relieved to know that the App Store listing specifies that none of your photos are sent to Nintendo.
