Oracle wins $7 billion, 10-year contract with Pentagon to provide War Department with vital software and services

  • Pentagon awards first-ever direct award contract to Oracle
  • Nearly $7 billion in existing Oracle licenses consolidated into a single contract vehicle
  • The contract is expected to generate $441 million in savings by unifying technology purchases.

The U.S. Department of War (DoW) has awarded Oracle a nearly $7 billion Freedom Arsenal contract to provide the Department with enterprise software and services.

This is one of the largest Enterprise Software Agreements (ESAs) ever entered into by the Department and the first ever contract awarded directly. It is expected to deliver at least $441 million in savings by “consolidating fragmented, one-off information technology purchases into a single, unified contract.”
