KARACHI:

The Pakistan Airports Authority (PAA) has extended until April 30 a Notice to Airmen (NOTAM) allowing airlines operating to and from Pakistan to transport larger quantities of fuel from abroad, in response to ongoing operational concerns related to the regional situation in the Middle East and fuel supply constraints.

The move comes amid continued disruptions and logistical challenges related to jet fuel availability, prompting aviation authorities to maintain special operational measures for international carriers.

The extension builds on previous guidelines issued by the authority, which were introduced to manage fuel planning requirements for airlines operating across Pakistan during a period of regional uncertainty.

Officials said the updated NOTAM further extends these provisions to ensure continuity of flight operations and reduce potential operational risks.
