Phil Mickelson is ready to fight the latest accusations against him that got him kicked out of his own golf club.

The six-time major champion was accused of having inappropriate contact with a female employee before a round of golf this spring at Farms Golf Club in the San Diego area.

Mickelson allegedly approached the clubhouse employee and made non-consensual and inappropriate physical contact with her. The employee reported the incident to club supervisors after rejecting the alleged advances following Mickelson’s return to the golf course.

However, Mickelson’s attorney said the video evidence would absolve Mickelson of any wrongdoing.

“There is a lot of misinformation circulating and, while Phil’s full attention is devoted to a private family health matter, he has retained a defamation attorney and is determined to hold accountable any publication or individual who traffics in speculation or false rumors,” Mickelson’s attorney, Tom Clare, told Golf Digest.

Club officials acted quickly and located Mickelson in the middle of his round, confronted him with the accusation on the golf course and told him to leave the area. Mickelson allegedly left the establishment before finishing his rounds.

“Following a staff member’s report of misconduct, the club provided immediate and ongoing support to the staff member, conducted a thorough independent investigation into the incident and took decisive action. This individual is no longer a member of Farms Golf Club,” a club statement shared to Golf Digest read in part.

“The Farms conducts thorough reviews of all reported issues in accordance with California law and takes appropriate action where warranted, consistent with our commitment to integrity, excellence and accountability. To protect the safety and privacy of our staff and members, we are unable to comment further on this matter. We appreciate your understanding.”

Mickelson, a member of LIV Golf, has only competed in one of the tour’s nine completed events this season due to an undisclosed “personal health issue” within his family. That lone appearance on LIV came in late March in South Africa, where he finished T-48.

The 55-year-old released a statement on April 2, a week before the Masters, explaining that he would not play at Augusta National and would be away for “an extended period of time while my family continues to deal with a personal health issue.” He is not entered in next week’s U.S. Open at Shinnecock Hills.
