Prince Harry appears confident in his efforts as he believes a major opportunity is opening up for them in the UK, as King Charles continues his state visit to the United States.
The Duke of Sussex, who is expected to return to the UK for the upcoming Invictus Games in Birmingham, is making sure his wife is involved in the new action plan, insiders have revealed.
Harry is “totally counting on him because he assured his father that they would bring Archie and Lili to finally enjoy some quality time with him,” sources told Closer. However, they noted that Meghan was “still hesitant” about returning to the UK after all these years.
However, Harry argues that if he wants to return to the royal fold, it has to be with Meghan, otherwise it would seem “pretty strange”. He insists it is a “non-negotiable” part of the plan, even if Meghan is not willing to live in Britain or fully immerse herself there. She can travel more frequently but she will have to be by his side.
The sources added that for Harry, it makes “perfect sense” to find a property near Windsor that they can use as a “crash pad” whenever they are in town and that it would potentially be something that Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet could inherit.
This would allow the Sussex children to connect with their British heritage and their royal parents, strengthening their ties to the monarchy.
Meghan has “many conditions to meet” before fully signing off on the trip, but Harry has taken a clear stance on his presence and support for the UK’s plans.
It remains to be seen how this will play out as the reconciliation process with King Charles has been put on hold.
