Hollywood star Sharon Stone has opened up about her brutal experience overcoming a “damn” drug addiction, revealing how she finally got her life back after decades of addiction to stroke drugs and cannabis.
Talk to a digital magazine Nineteen92 During an interview at her Beverly Hills estate, the iconic actress detailed her difficult journey to a completely drug-free lifestyle, which began when she decided to stop taking a long-term medication prescribed following her near-fatal stroke in 2001.
Stone said that although doctors told her she could never stop taking her medication, she insisted on stopping them last September, describing the intense withdrawal process as if it were quitting heroin.
She remembers feeling as sick as a fucking dog for four and a half months, driven solely by the desire to get her life back.
Having already eliminated the majority of the prescription medications she had been given over the years, the actress decided to take the final step and quit smoking weed as well.
However, quitting cannabis caused another severe wave of illness that lasted a month, which his neurologist said was linked to dangerous additives often found in modern marijuana compared to his younger days, noting that people have even died from it in emergency rooms.
The journey to sobriety coincides with a major creative renaissance for the star, whose longtime passion for painting has recently blossomed into a thriving global career.
After studying fine arts in college before dropping out to pursue modeling in New York City with just $50 and a suitcase, Stone reignited her artistic obsession during the COVID lockdown.
What started with a few canvases in her bedroom eventually led to her stripping the space of its furniture, hammering nails directly into its walls, and living in a makeshift artist’s loft.
