- Law is Dead Leaker Moore Claims Sony Will Launch Three PS6 Devices in 2027
- Leaker indicates that a “lite” PS6, a main PS6 and a handheld will be released at the same time
- It is also claimed that the consoles will cost between $350 and $1,000 in the United States.
A leaker has claimed that Sony will launch its next-generation PlayStation with three devices in 2027, including two consoles and a companion handheld.
That’s according to a new YouTube video from Moore’s Law is Dead (MLID), which has previously accurately reported other leaked hardware details, in which it attempted to estimate the price of upcoming PlayStation hardware following recent PS5 price hikes (via GamesRadar).
In the video, MLID claimed that Sony would launch a base PS6, a “lite” model dubbed “PS6 S” and a PS6 handheld this time next year.

The main console would feature an Orion processor, while the PS6 S and handheld would feature the AMD “Canis” chipset.
In terms of price, it’s estimated that each device could range between $350 and $1,000 (which works out to around AU$500 to $1,400 in Australia), with the PS6 handheld, which looks like a PS portal, being the cheapest of the bunch.
Although MLID has not revealed specific price leaks, the YouTuber predicts that due to the increasing cost of components, lack of RAM, and rising tariffs, the price of each console could change in the future.
MLID estimated that the ‘PS6 S’ could cost between $349 and $549 (approximately AU$500 to AU$769 at current prices), the PS6 companion handheld between $499 and $699 (approximately AU$699 to AU$980), and the main PS6 console between AU$699 and AU$999 (approximately AU$980 to AU$1,400).
This is just speculation at the moment, but given Sony’s recent price hikes for the PS5, PS5 Pro, and PS Portal, the next-gen console and its counterparts could be a bit more expensive than the 2020 launch PS5.
The company announced huge pricing changes last month, citing “continued pressures in the global economic landscape” for its decision to increase the price of the PS5 by $100 and the PS5 Pro by $150.
As of April 2, the PS5 now costs $649.99 / £569.99 / AU$999, down from $549.99 / £479.99 / AU$829.95. The PS5 Digital Edition now costs $599.99 / £519.99 / AU$919.95 instead of $499.99 / £429.99 / AU$749.95, and the PS5 Pro is now priced at a whopping $899.99 / £789.99 / AU$1,399.95, down from $749.99 / £699.99 / AU$1,199.95.
Meanwhile, PS Portal now costs $249.99 / £219.99 / AU$389.95, down from $199.99 / £199.99 / AU$329.95.
