- Spotify quietly updated its listening stats page
- You can now see the total number of artists and songs you’ve listened to each week
- There’s also a new social feature that lets you compare your stats to those of your friends.
Spotify is packed with every feature you can imagine, but its listening stats tool gives you a solid overview of what you’re listening to and how your streaming habits are changing from week to week – and it’s only getting better.
As I was browsing the r/truespotify community on Reddit, a series of posts about a new listener stats upgrade caught my attention. I didn’t believe it at first, but was immediately corrected when I took a look at my own account and saw that Spotify had quietly given it a new look, and with new features to match.
Firstly, the listening stats have received a big design upgrade and are more visually appealing than before, with bolder text and more recognizable display cards than before, separating your individual stats from each other to give you a clearer overview of your music week. But it doesn’t stop there.
In addition to the visual brilliance of listening stats, Spotify has added new data that tells you even more about how much music you listen to each week. When listening stats were first released, they showed you your top five artists and songs of the week, and that was about it, but now your stats tell you exactly how many artists and songs you listened to week after week, including your total minutes listened to.
There’s also a new social aspect to Listening Stats, which, given Spotify’s commitment to emulsifying social media with its existing feature list, isn’t entirely surprising, but it’s something many users, including myself, weren’t yet expecting.
Although your top artists and songs have their own separate display cards, there are new individual cards that allow you to see who or what your friends have been on repeat over the week or, in my case, spy on your friends for new music recommendations. Now they can’t control your artists, which is arguably the biggest advantage.
This also means you can compare your own stats to those of your friends, including your total weekly streaming minutes, so you can now compete to see who is the most dedicated music fan.
Listening stats being rebranded?
Listening Stats joined Spotify’s mobile interface in November 2025 and has since served as a sort of mini-Wrapped feature. In addition to the data mentioned above, listening stats include special moments to highlight different aspects of your listening, whether it’s a milestone, a fan moment, or a new music discovery, diving deeper into your weekly soundtrack.
But with the majority of Spotify’s features, listening stats haven’t been updated for a number of users in some regions, according to responses in Reddit threads I’ve read (some users only now have access to AI DJ). That said, Your Sound Capsule is a similar tool to Listening Stats, but it’s only available to Premium subscribers in Brazil, Indonesia, and India, and has been for some time.
Your sound capsule (more features) from r/truespotify
Like listening stats, Your Sound Capsule highlights your most listened to artists and songs, but offers charts and other visuals that break down your listening habits in detail. It’s unclear why this tool is limited only to the above markets, but some online users believe that Listening Stats is being rebranded as Your Sound Capsule.
Although Spotify hasn’t mentioned anything about it, the latest listening stats update gives the feeling that a bigger upgrade is on the way. Design-wise, the Listening Stats tab is much more vibrant and bold, and its visual maps have been adopted from those featured in Your Sound Capsule, but I wouldn’t place any bets just yet until Spotify provides more details.
I have contacted Spotify for comment on the above and will update this story if and when I hear more information.
