Speaking to TechRadar Gaming ahead of launch, community manager Bart Podress-Leszek explained that the decision to launch the game in Early Access reflects the team’s desire to listen carefully to players’ wishes.

While the intention is clearly to expand the game over time, Podress-Leszek believes the soon-to-be-released initial release remains a very robust package with plenty to offer potential players.
“There’s a lot that comes into play in this early access. You have six factions. You have so many game modes to play in, both single-player and multiplayer. You have the hot seat, which is a mode that isn’t in games often anymore,” he said.
“And you have the map editor, which will still be in beta, but we’ll improve it with early access, so people can already create their own stories. Then, of course, there’s the first campaign act, which will also be pretty decent sized.”
He then added that any new entry into the Heroes of power and magic The series is “actually a very big project” with “a lot of stuff” for fans to play.
“It may seem small, but once you start adding these things up [the game] ends up having a large amount of content. »
Since it’s been so long since the last one Heroes of power and magic As such, considerations are also made for complete newcomers.
There’s a dedicated tutorial, a range of difficulty levels, and the sheer number of modes gives you the ability to customize the experience to make it more manageable when you’re starting out.
The developer highlights the single hero mode as a good way to get “the core experience of the game, without having to worry about too many heroes and too many danger paths” to manage.
The Early Access launch follows the success of a free demo released in October 2025, which helped catapult the game to its current position as the tenth most desired title on Steam.
Podress-Leszek revealed that the team is “very happy with the reception overall”, but is not complacent. “We received a lot of helpful and critical feedback that was incorporated into the game,” he said.
