Meryl Streep and Martin Short have been together for over a year, but they have managed to keep their relationship out of the public eye despite their highly scrutinized lives.
Although the couple doesn’t comment on their relationship, a source close to them shared a rare glimpse into how they “work so well together.”
The source noted, “It’s like each of them is exactly what the other person needs at this point in life. Everything seems incredibly easy between them. There’s no friction, no drama, nothing complicated. They really enjoy being together and it flows naturally.”
They noticed that the couple had this “ease” between them which is really rare, in a conversation with Page six.

“Everyone should be lucky enough to find someone who fits into their lives the way they do into each other’s lives. They make each other laugh, they support each other and there’s just a calmness to their relationship. It never feels forced,” the source added.
Although the relationship came as a surprise to the couple, “Meryl couldn’t help but fall in love with Martin. He’s a gentleman, he makes her laugh and he’s an overall positive person. She loves being around him,” as a source told the outlet at the time.
The couple was recently spotted at an intimate dinner in London where they ate together without being surrounded by photographers.
